About Overtime Pay

Overtime pay is calculated based on federal and state labor laws. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires employers to pay non-exempt employees 1.5 times their regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

FFederal (FLSA): 1.5x after 40 hours per week
CACalifornia: 1.5x after 8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week, 2x after 12 hrs/day
AKAlaska: 1.5x after 8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week
COColorado: 1.5x after 12 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week

Always check your state's specific labor laws and your employment contract.
