About Military Time

Military time (24-hour clock) eliminates AM/PM confusion by using a continuous 24-hour format. It's used by military, emergency services, hospitals, aviation, and internationally.

  • Midnight is 00:00 (or 2400 when referring to end of day)
  • Hours 00:00-11:59 = Morning hours (same as 12-hour without AM)
  • 12:00 = Noon (12:00 PM)
  • Hours 13:00-23:59 = Afternoon/evening (subtract 12 for PM time)
