Many time clocks print punches in 24-hour format because it can’t be misread: 0700 and 1900 are unmistakable, while a smudged “7:00” could be either. Minutes stay the same in both systems; only the hour changes. For payroll, convert the difference to decimal hours with the decimal hours converter, or paste the punches straight into the time card calculator, which reads 24-hour times as they are.

How do I convert military time to regular time?
For hours 13 to 23, subtract 12 and add PM: 1700 is 5:00 PM. 0000 to 0059 is 12:xx AM, 0100 to 1159 are AM as written, and 1200 to 1259 is 12:xx PM.
What is 1500 in military time?
1500 is 3:00 PM. Say it “fifteen hundred”.
Is midnight 0000 or 2400?
Both are used. 0000 marks the start of a day and 2400 the end of it, so a shift ending at midnight is often written as 2400. This converter treats both as midnight.
How do I calculate hours worked in military time?
Subtract the start from the end as if they were hours and minutes. 0730 to 1615 is 16:15 − 7:30 = 8 h 45 min. If the end is smaller than the start, add 2400 first, because the shift crossed midnight.
